PCR PE Film

Recycled PE Film,
Specified to Your Line

Mono-material polyethylene film carrying 20–100% post-consumer recycled content — engineered so you can add a verified recycled claim without re-qualifying your converting line.

The Material

Recycled Content Treated as an Engineering Variable

PCR PE film is not one product — it is a family. Recycled content, thickness and print surface are all set per order, and each of them changes how the film behaves on your line. We produce from 25 µm to 200 µm, in widths up to 1400 mm, and we confirm what is achievable on your equipment before you commit to a spec.

What stays constant is the polymer family. Every structure on this line is mono-material PE, so the finished pack remains in the polyethylene recycling stream instead of being downcycled into a lower-grade application. The recycled content is set to the figure your claim requires — 20%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 100%, or a value in between.

The claim is documented rather than asserted: OLUNRO holds GRS certification from Intertek (TE-00352946) and issues a Transaction Certificate for each shipment. How the certificate and the TC fit together.

Recycled Content

Set to Your Percentage, Not to a Fixed Grade

There is no single recycled-content grade we steer everyone towards. Tell us the figure your claim needs and the film is built to it.

Standard percentages 20% · 30% · 50% · 70% · 100% post-consumer
Other values Quoted on request — we are not limited to the percentages above
Per-grade property table Not published — see the note below
We do not publish a property table for each grade. Recycled content changes tensile behaviour and surface quality, and by how much depends on both the feedstock and the percentage — so the figures are confirmed against your specification rather than quoted from a table that may never apply to your job.

On Your Line

What Changes as Recycled Content Rises

Recycled PE is not virgin PE, and the difference shows up in predictable places. Knowing where lets you plan the run instead of discovering it on press.

Gel points

Higher recycled ratios carry more gel points — small hard inclusions in the film. This is the single most common reason a PCR run behaves differently from a virgin one.

Heavy-coverage printing

Gels interrupt ink transfer. Full-bleed and large solid areas show it first, where adhesion and uniformity can suffer; light line work is usually unaffected.

Press speed

Adjusting print speed is normally the most effective correction, and the adjustment scales with the recycled content — so the setting can be planned in advance.

Tensile strength

Tensile strength falls as recycled content rises. Where a pack needs more strength, the structure is usually the better place to solve it than the percentage.

Why Converters Switch

What It Gives You on the Line

No line re-qualification

Formulated to run on familiar PE settings — seal window, web tension and print behaviour stay in known territory.

A documented claim

Each batch ships with a Transaction Certificate, so the recycled content is evidenced rather than asserted.

Mono-material by design

One polymer family means the finished pack stays in the PE recycling stream instead of being downcycled.

Batch-to-batch consistency

In-house extrusion with strict QC, PCR blends included — batch twenty behaves like batch one.

Traceability

From Order to Transaction Certificate

Recycled content is only worth as much as the paperwork standing behind it. This is how the chain works on a film order.

Chain of custody

01 You declare the target quantity with the order, so certified feedstock can be allocated before production is scheduled
02 Film is produced from GRS-certified feedstock on a documented chain of custody
03 The shipment goes out and the Transaction Certificate is issued for that batch
04 You pass the TC down your own supply chain, or hold it on file to support your claim

Terminal customers without GRS certification can still be issued a TC — the certificate simply stops there and cannot be passed on any further. If you hold your own GRS certificate, send it to us and it is entered into the system so the chain can continue through your own downstream sales.

FAQ

Questions Converters Ask Us

What thickness range do you produce in PCR PE film?

From 25 µm to 200 µm. The practical range for a given job depends on the recycled content and the strength the pack needs — send us the target and we will confirm what we would run.

Can you make film at 100% recycled content?

Yes. We produce between 20% and 100% post-consumer content, and the figure is set per order rather than chosen from a fixed list.

Does more recycled content change how the film prints?

It can. Gel points increase with the recycled ratio, which shows up first in full-bleed and large solid areas where ink adhesion and uniformity are hardest to hold. Print speed is usually the most effective correction. We tell you what to expect at your content level so the press settings can be planned before the run.

Why don't you publish a property table for each recycled-content grade?

Because the properties follow your specification, not a generic grade. Two jobs at the same percentage can behave differently depending on the feedstock and the structure around them, so we confirm the numbers against what you are actually ordering.

How is the recycled content verified?

OLUNRO holds GRS certification from Intertek (TE-00352946), and each shipment is covered by a Transaction Certificate. The certificate gives you third-party evidence of the recycled content rather than a supplier’s own statement. Read more about PCR and GRS.

Can you match a specification we already run?

Send us your current specification and we will come back with the closest PCR structure, together with samples and the documentation behind the claim. Where a direct match is not achievable on your equipment, we tell you that before you commit rather than after.
